Having visited Table Mountain and Lion’s Head severally (if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you’d know Lion’s Head is one of my favorite hiking spots here). I had always seen Signal Hill on the left (or right, depends on your vantage point) of Lion’s Head, but I never really felt motivated to go there because it didn’t seem that much of a challenge. But I’ve recently been staying somewhere that gives me a full view of Signal Hill, so I decided to finally visit.
We drove up and past Lion’s Head, up to Signal Hill where there’s ample parking. All you need to do is find your way to Lion’s Head, which is quite easy to find and drive all the way up, you definitely wouldn’t miss it.
ABOUT SIGNAL HILL
There’s a triad made up of the famous Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and Signal Hill. There’s Table Mountain, then Lion’s Head on the side and then Signal Hill. It actually wasn’t until I got there that I saw there was a really busy paragliding take off spot there. I watched almost 10 people take off in the little time I spent there. Sadly I lost most of my pictures and videos of people taking off, except one. I’ve shared the photos on here and I hope you love them.
I genuinely hope to one day be like those people I saw up there and go paragliding. It looks like so much fun and doesn’t look scary at all. I’m definitely looking forward to doing it soon. I hear it costs R1400 per person but I bet I can find a deal for two somewhere for cheaper. Looking forward to sharing my paragliding trip details with you when I eventually get up to it.
Ever been paragliding before? If yes, did you enjoy the experience? Was it scary? And what would you recommend to wear or take with you? If you’ve never, do you think it’s something you’d be keen to do? Are you scared it’ll be too much to handle? Leave your comments below and let me know what you think xx.
