Personal Style: The TMId Cape Dress

Fashion is very important. It is life-enhancing, and like everything that gives pleasure, it is worth doing well.

Pure, intense emotions. It’s not about design. It is about feelings.

Now, about this lovely cape dress I made awhile ago; I had bought this fabric from the fabric store – I’m not sure exactly what type it is though, but my best guess is lightweight tweed. Being a bit of a learner and a designer who can’t really afford to experiment much, I assumed it’ll be a bit of a hassle to iron on interfacing onto the fabric so I chose to go with a design that was flowy and flexible, suitable for Mr Fabric. So I went with the cape dress with welt opening for hands and topped it off with a collar just to add some form of ‘stiffness’ to it. I wanted to give it the flexible yet sturdy look, hence the collar.

I totally love that you can wear it as a whole outfit (encouraging my lazy style), no need to rack your brain early in the morning for what goes best with it. Simple, elegant and so à la mode for the winter season. Looking forward to thinking up new ways to style it another time.

Till next time, love and cuddles!

Don’t forget to like and share. Gracias!
