Spied Solange in this yellow outfit the other day and I fell in love immediately (not like I don’t fall in love every damn time I see photos of her, such a style gem). Notice how she always manages to pull off full on yellow outfits? Goals bruh!
I finally decided to wear the pants from this post and luckily found this yellow ribbed knit fabric at this fabric store that’s fast becoming my favourite store, for its cheap yet beautiful fabrics, they’re almost too good to be true (and its the same fabric store I got the fabric for the culottes in my previous post.
Trying to beat the winter blues, I decided to go all out with colour and paired the yellow oversized top in ribbed knit with the wide leg pants, then I added the neck tie/belt to kinda “soften” the look. Totally loved the outcome.
DSC_0433-01And lucky me, I can still wear that top as a dress come spring and summer. I was tempted to make the top a little shorter so it could go better with the pants but what a waste that would have been, restricting the lengths (pun intended 😉 ) this pretty garment can go. So I chose to give it freedom and greater use in life, both as a dress and top. I think that’s one of the ambitions of garments, to be multi-stylable lol. Totally looking forward to wearing it with knee-high boots or something.
Disclaimer: I am not obsessed with yellow. I know it seems that way but I swear I’m not, please believe me :'(. My boss actually threw shade at me by asking “Joy, what other colours are there asides yellow?” I wanted to cry lol. After that episode, I stayed off yellow for over a month, but I think I unconsciously couldn’t hold out that long and just went all out like a recovering addict having a terrible relapse.

Maybe it’s about time I admitted I love yellow, maybe. In the meantime, refer to the disclaimer above :p.
